  • ADHD Treatment

Kimberly Fields, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of training and experience in the field of nursing. For the past 12 years, Kimberly has managed adult patients with psychiatric disorders. Kimberly obtained her Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She has previous work experience as an Emergency (ER) Department Nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, and the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals, which is currently known as Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Health Systems.

Her practice as an Emergency Department Nurse was the catalyst that propelled her to consider training as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry. As an ER Nurse, she had the opportunity to provide care for many complex patients who exhibited significant psycho-social issues that affected their quality of life.

Kimberly believed that being proactive and providing care from the beginning, before hospitalization, would benefit patients lives rather than being reactionary. Due to Kimberly's proactive approach to care, she currently treats patients from varied sociocultural backgrounds in a private mental health practice setting.

She manages their mental health from a W-holistic integrative perspective, offering medication management and various therapeutic interventions. Kimberly's ultimate goal is to eventually provide patients with complementary and alternative medical treatment. She seeks to help educate the community on the benefits of mental health treatment and continues working to decrease the stigma of therapy in various communities.

Kimberly believes that people are resilient and must strive toward wholeness to heal and grow. Most importantly, she chooses to be part of their growth and healing process.
