Keisha was raised in Richmond, VA, where she began her medical career as a Nursing Assistant at age 18. Most of her years as a nursing assistant was spent working in long-term care communities. After working for 4 years, Keisha returned to school to attend LPN school. She obtained her Associates Degree in Nursing at John Tyler Community College, while working long-term care and correctional settings. In 2008, Keisha returned to school at Virginia Commonwealth University to obtain her RN-BSN degree in 2009. During this time, she transitioned to and worked in the critical care setting, where she spent 10 years as a charge nurse. She eventually went back to get an MSN-FNP from Hampton University. Since completing her degree as Family Nurse Practitioner in 2016, she has worked as a Nurse Practitioner in a walk-in clinic, acute care hospital, and in long term care settings caring for populations ranging from infants on up to geriatric.
