Dexter is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC). He has over 15 years of clinical experience caring for patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics to geriatrics, in various inpatient and outpatient settings. He is passionate about providing quality, compassionate, and comprehensive mental health services to his patients.

A proud U.S. military veteran, Dexter was an automated logistic specialist in the U.S. Army before deciding to pursue a career in nursing as a licensed practical nurse.

Dexter then completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Liberty University and received his Master of Science in Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Maryville University.

Dexter is passionate about providing quality, empathetic, and comprehensive mental health services to adolescents and adults. He possesses an easy-going communication style which makes it easy for him to talk to patients and family members.

Although Dexter can prescribe medications as a viable option for various mental health conditions, he has also found success with utilizing the holistic approach of

listening and educating the patient before resorting to medication; many times using a combination of all three. Dexter strongly believes that it is vital that the patient understands why they are taking medicines while also discussing their feelings about the treatment plan with them.
